Treasurer’s Report

Mike Whitton reports that ToCD bank account balance is currently $1582.57

An online fundraising page has been created via Action Network. Plan to add links to ToCD webpage. 


Follow-up: Add link to FB page, (and Instagram/Twitter)  Draft brief description of fundraising needs to post on the fundraising page.


BOCES Capital Plan Vote

Richard Hooley, Superintendent of Dutchess BOCES presented details of the current Capital Project

  • $36.8Million total expense, / State will cover $24.6Million if approved by voters.


This project addresses programming and facilities consolidation and improvements in the following areas:

  • Vocational Skills

  • Special Needs

  • Alternative High School

  • Adult Education

  • Vote scheduled for Tuesday, December 11, 2018

Post-election Action Topics

It was recommended that issues of local importance be priority, however if individuals wish to focus on state/national issues, that can be done as well.

  1. Gun Safety

  2. Election Reform (to address voter suppression, gerrymandering, voter registration)

  3. Campaign Finance Reform

  4. Environmental Protection (clean energy, climate change issues)

  5. Reproductive rights (Planned Parenthood)

  6. Infrastructure (local broadband, clean energy)

  7. Health Issues related to opioid epidemic, marijuana legalization

  8. Universal Healthcare

  9. Immigration Reform


Potluck social for volunteers

Interest expressed in organizing a potluck supper event, similar to celebration potluck after last year's election.  If interested in hosting please contact us.


County Legislature Report

Joel noted the following issues being addressed/presented to the County Legislature:

  • County Budget (continue to see deep County Fund Balance, now up to $55M)

  • Local Jail-continue to see incarceration of many nonviolent drug offenders

  • Redistricting

  • Broadband municipal
